Our Lady of Walsingham comes to Lynton
Our Lady of Walsingham has come to reside in Lynton, at least temporarily. In March we welcomed a magnificent bronze statue of Our Lady that was processed with jubilation into the cloister garden before taking up her new home in the convent’s private oratory. Originally commissioned in 2012, the statue was in the private chapel of Bishop Alan Hope of East Anglia. After being blessed by Bishop Alan in Wasingham on the 25th March this year, on the occasion of the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate heart of Mary, Our Lady has come to stay in Lynton so that we might take evermore to heart our mission to pray for the conversion of England, and for the needs of the National Shrine in Walsingham. Her presence among us is a constant reminder of our vocation to be joy in the heart of the Church.
